Back on March 4th, 2008 Marcia Prevost contacted CBS 4 after hearing our story on how all of our money had been stolen by our past treasurer. She wanted to pay it forward to our Scout Troop and give us $1000 so we could stay afloat. Well since then our money has been unexpectedly recovered and the $1000 pay it forward idea had been discussed at meetings amongst the leaders and the thought was to "forward" that favor to another group or family in need. That money kept us afloat in our time of need so maybe it can keep others afloat as well. With this idea put on hold for a couple weeks we had a devastating EF-3 tornado tear up eastern larimer and western weld county. The idea re-surfaced imeadiately and we contacted channel 4 and asked them to help us find a family in need. On Wednesday May 28th, 2008, BSA Troop 184 paid it forward to a family in need just south of the heaviest hit area in Windsor, Colorado within eyesight of the missile silo park. We presented them with a check for $1000 to help them get their lives back on track, re-organized, and resupply the items they need most. CBS 4 was present and filming while we were attempting to locate two wedding rings lost in the tornado. We originally thought the ring we found was a childs ring of really no value, but we were notified by telephone later that we did indeed find one of the two missing wedding rings!! The diamond had been knocked loose but it meant a great deal to the resident of the destroyed trailer that we spent the time to try and look.
